I haven't posted for a while for two reasons: 1) I've been polishing my latest manuscript with the help of a freelance editor, and 2) my children are a spectacular time-suck. The latter is a shocker, I know (especially to those of you with your own offspring), but it gets even worse at the end of the school year - every time I turn around it's a field trip, or a party, or a recital, or a graduation, or a year-end project. As a stay-at-home dad, it just never ends.
At any rate, with the end of school a mere two weeks away, I'm almost ready to give up on improving this manuscript and submitting it. I've reached saturation with it, and while more time might make it better, I feel like at this point I'm not growing at all as a writer, which to me always means it's time to move on to a new project (or spend the summer swimming and boating while thinking about next fall's new project). So soon the new queries will be going out with their new rejections following - and hopefully some of them will be AWESOME rejections! Even better, just maybe, after coming close last time, just maybe this manuscript will be the one that gets me an agent.
